Introducing Jacob Austin Elliott

Mystery man revealed! 

We were blessed to finally meet our little angel Jacob on November 8, 2011 at 2:22 PM. 

We couldn't be more in love with him.

6 pounds, 13 ounces, and perfect. Just perfect.

Likes: being held & rocked, riding around in cars (do we see a trend here? really motion of any kind will do), sucking on Dad's finger, milk, the Allman Brothers, Mom's hair dryer, and more milk, lots more milk please

Dislikes: being put down in my crib (please, who wouldn't rather be held?), red lights when I'm enjoying riding around in the car, when Dad takes his finger out of my mouth, getting my diaper changed, baths

Well, it's exactly six weeks after Jacob's birth and I am FINALLY sitting down to write his first blog entry. All those who said I would have my hands full once this little guy arrived...point taken!

Last Tuesday, at five weeks, we reached a major milestone. Well, for us, at least. That was Jacob's first night to sleep in his crib. HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! Until then, this little man would scream his heart out any time we put him down, which made for some really long and uncomfortable nights in chairs and on couches. It's funny though, now that he'll sleep in his crib, I miss cuddling with him at night. Dad says I'm just hard to please. :)

So, needless to say, after six weeks, Mama has a lot of catching up to do! We'll start with the hospital and all your sweet visitors! You are so loved my son!

You gave us quite the scare as soon as you were born, but after a prompt visit from the NICU doctor and few hours in the nursery, the doctors & nurses drained all of the excess fluid from your little lungs and we finally got to hold you and hug you. Our hearts instantly melted.

We were so thankful for everyone's love and are so blessed by all our family and friends that called to check on you those days. We couldn't be happier about all of these amazing people that you'll grow to know over the years. 

And on Thursday, November 10th, we were ready to go home! You barely fit in your going home outfits or the car seat! We were so excited to get you home. The car ride home was without a doubt the slowest and most cautious drive your dad has ever driven. :) Precious cargo indeed.
