Can someone please hit the FREEZE button on the stop watch of life? How is it that my little man is already 4 months old?!? (And since I'm almost two weeks late at blogging about this, he'll be 5 months old before I can even hit post!).
The past four months have been the most incredible experience of our lives. You have brought us more joy and laughter than we could have ever dreamed possible. You're growing into a little boy with your own personality. Watching this unfold makes my heart beam with extreme intensity!
You continue to be such a happy baby, and you especially love new people and surroundings. You usually greet new friends with an ear to ear grin (especially ladies!) showing off your cute dimple. Which brings me to those cheeks...they are SO STINKIN' DELICIOUS! So delicious in fact, that one of your teachers at school calls you Mr. Cheeks. Ha! How perfect. You've even maintained your happy-go-lucky nature while fighting through your first two nasty colds. The second and most recent one came with a cough that broke my heart in two every time I heard you struggle through it. But you just keep on smiling through it all. You are one tough little man, son!
The last month has brought lots of fun, new adventures and milestones:
Your first real laugh! And you continue to laugh so much, especially when Dad pretends to eat your tummy - that's one of your favorites!
Holding your head up (look at you, such a big boy in your bumbo)!
Sleeping through the night for the first time. Well, at least until the colds hit hard...so I've been meaning to ask you, can we pick this one back up again? Please? Pretty please?
Learning to grab things with both hands. And putting everything that makes its way into those precious little hands into your sweet little mouth! Yep, you are definitely starting to teeth already because you chomp down on EVERYTHING with major force.
Your first time to roll over onto your tummy in your crib! We haven't repeated this one yet, so I'm pretty sure it was all leg action, but still fun!
Lots and lots of talking! This is one of my favorite things to do with you right now - just let you stretch out on a blanket and talk and talk and talk. Definitely a characteristic you've inherited from your mom. ;)
Your dad and I are more sleep deprived than we've ever been and we can't recall the last time we went out for drinks or a movie (though we did get to go on a dinner date recently - thank you Abuelita!). But we've NEVER been happier. Our lives wouldn't be the same without you. You're only 4 months old (0.33 years as your dad likes to say), but you've already made your mark on this family. And we are forever changed. In the best way imaginable.
I love you Jacob!
Your 4 month stats:
Weight: 11.6 pounds, 5th percentile
Height: 23 1/2 inches, 5th percentile
Head Circumference: 41 1/2 cm, 40th percentile (that's one heck of a noggin'!)

Love those CHEEKS!!! And I can't wait to see that dimple in person. Jacob, you're getting so big!
