It is said we are all saints in the making. I've always had a difficult time believing that applies to me personally, but it is quite hard to imagine this little face is anything but that.

On Sunday, December 18, 2011, Jacob Austin Elliott was baptized at Saint Rita Catholic Community. Witnessing this sacrament as a parent brought it to a completely new and more profound understanding for me. I'm certainly not saying that it takes being a parent for everyone to fully comprehend the splendor that is being reborn through the waters of Baptism, being joined to the body of Christ, and receiving the gift of God's amazing grace. But for me, it did. I can be a little slow to catch on sometimes though. Thank God He is patient with all His little ones.
After the baptism we celebrated at our house with Jacob's godparents, our families, and dear friends. We were so blown away by the love and uplifting support poured out onto our little saint that day. My heart is full just knowing that he has so many loving brothers and sisters in Christ to help guide him along his earthly journey.
God bless you always Jacob! May you grow to know the Lord intimately and trust in His love for you always. May you turn to Him with praise & thanksgiving in times of great joy, for comfort in times of sorrow, and for guidance in times of trouble. Life will throw many twists and turns your way, but if you ask Him to show you the way, He will. Surround yourself with Godly people to help steer you back on course if every you should wander. I love you so much!
