Again, still trying to get caught up here...
Easter weekend turned into a last minute extra special treat. On Saturday, not only did we get to see my mom and brother who came up for a quick visit, but we also got to celebrate cousin Olivia's 2nd birthday with my dear cousin Gaby, her husband Pablo and many of their close friends and family. I wish I had not forgotten my camera so that I could have taken more pictures of all the hard work Gaby and my Tia Georgia put into the birthday party - it was absolutely adorable! Thank goodness for cell phones with cameras, at least we were able to snap a few quick pics.

The party's theme was from the Olivia children's book series, quite fittingly. Everything was red and white to match - the cake (that gorgeous fondant covered two-tiered one to the right of Olivia in the picture, made by Gaby - impressive!), cake pops, chocolate covered Oreos, jelly beans, chocolate covered pretzels, and cupcakes - we were in sweets' heaven! And to top it all off...the party was complete with a petting zoo and pony rides for the kids! All in Gaby and Pablo's backyard - so fun! I even got to hold a baby goat, bunny, and chicken and Jacob got to touch their fur with his toes. He loved it!
We followed up the birthday party on Saturday with a very moving Easter morning Mass, during which Jacob was an absolute angel. I was so nervous about having a then almost five month old, who hadn't taken a morning nap, in the front pew. Yep, that's right, front pew is all that is left when you only get there half an hour early! Much to Jim's dismay as well, since no time for laundry the several weeks before meant an unmatched pair of socks, one blue & one black, with no pew in front to hide them. Hehehe. After Mass, an impromtu Easter brunch at home with my mom and brother. We were thankful for a quick but very fun visit!

Well, you're doing a great job if Jacob was an angel during one of the longer Masses of the year! You're brave for taking the front row. I would have loved to have seen his reaction petting some of the animals at Olivia's birthday party. Can't wait to see him - three more months, three more months!
